Cosmos are not toxic to dogs. The plant doesn’t contain poisonous substances that impair a dog’s system. Every part including the stem, flowers, and leaves is totally safe for your dog and pet. This means you can plant the flower as a houseplant without worrying that your dog will get an allergy or a stomach upset.
The flower is not only safe for your dogs but your cats and kids as well. This is the reason many children’s gardens often have this species of flowers.
Of course, if your doggie ingests Cosmos in colossal amounts, it can be dangerous for him.
Too much of the plant will inevitably upset the tummy. Your fur baby may then suffer discomfort in his belly, vomit, or have runny stools.
If that happens, take the dog for a check-up to avoid further problems.

Basically, this is a breathtaking summer annual with roots in Mexico and the United States.
The plant produces daisy-like flowers with ray florets around the center in a shallow cup.

The taller varieties often sit well at the rear border or the middle of the garden while the shorter varieties make great edging plants.
